• Do I Need to Include a Details Card?

  No. While it may be in our interest to sell you a details or additional enclosure card, it’s not imperative to your suite. Many couples opt to include all the important information on the wedding invitation itself.

  You need to make a decision based on both your design preferences and how much information you need to convey to your guests. If you are particularly fond of modern, minimalist wedding invites, that's going to be hard to achieve if you include all the information on your invite. In this situation, a separate enclosure card could be the way to go.

  What is vitally important is that you must provide important information to your guests. The decision of whether you do that via a details card or other manner is completely up to you.

• What Should I Include on the Details card?

  While there is no set rule on what you must include, it is obviously important to contain all the information your guests may need to make arrangements for your wedding day.

  Some of the more popular aspects to include on your enclosure card include:

  • Accommodation: If planning a wedding out of town, it's important to outline accommodation information to your guests. Many wedding venues allow block booking of hotel rooms as part of their package.

  • Timings & Schedule: Include the ceremony time, when you expect your guests to arrive as well as the time of carriages (end of the evening).

  • Dresscode: Outline the dress code for your guests. Planning a black tie event? Let them know!

  • Locations & Addresses: Include all the addresses that you will visit during your wedding day.

  • Gift & Registry Information: If you have a gift list or are requesting money for your day, it’s important to let your guests know how they go about making their selection or providing the funds.

  • Food Choices: Many couples opt to include their menu on the details card. This allows the guest to make their food selection in advance.

  • Travel Advice: Offering travel advice is important to allow a stress free wedding day. The last thing you want is important family members turning up 2 hours late to the reception.

  • Contact Information: Finally provide a way for guests to contact you. Whether that's a dedicated wedding email address or contact number. This way, if a guest needs to reach out, they know the preferred method.

• What Size Should My Enclosure Cards Be?

  Unlike wedding invitations, there is actually no set or standard size for your enclosure cards. For us, you should make a decision based on the amount of information you need to include regarding your big day. You can go as big as 6x8” however, if your invitation is 5x7” we would recommend to keep it to no bigger than this.

  The majority of our detail cards are either 5x7” or most popularly, 6x4.25”.

• Can I Use My Wedding Website Rather Than Adding Another Enclosure Card?

  Yes you can. Many couples opt to include all the important information on their wedding website rather than include a separate card in their wedding invitation suite. This is a great way to save money on your invites; however, it's always nice to go for the full invitation package, utilizing your suite as a keepsake of your big day.

• How Much Do Detail Cards Cost?

  As we’ve mentioned previously, the cost of the details card can be influenced by the amount of information you need to provide to your guests. Of course, if you are provided a large amount of information, therefore purchasing a larger card size, it's likely to cost more than a smaller detail card would.

  In addition, the number of detail cards you purchase will influence the price. Providing enclosure cards for 200 guests is going to cost more than for 30 guests.

  All that being said, enclosure and detail cards are cheaper than wedding invitations. Ordering 50 standard wedding invitations from ourselves will cost in the region of $118 however, 50 6x4.25” detail cards are likely to cost around $88.
