Tell us about your photographers and why you chose them?

We loved our photographers’ work from the moment we saw them online. We just knew they would be the perfect match for us! Their style is just what we were looking for, informal, relaxed & real photos. They just blend into your day and everyone has commented about how they didn’t even notice them taking pictures. I know our wedding party were quite worried that they were going to be filmed but they all just forgot the camera was even there.

Their pictures look so effortless (although they are definitely not effortless!) and everyone has commented how beautiful they are. I have a feeling our house is going to become a wedding shrine as we cannot pick a favourite few images to frame! We especially love all the little moments they captured that we didn”t notice on the day because we were so busy.

Any special supplier mentions?

Blackmore Commercial Vehicles (Red Bus)

This was our transport for the majority of our guests. We organised a quiz for them to complete along the way as it was roughly an hour’s drive between the Church and the wedding reception. This kept them occupied and also meant they could drink some champagne along the way. Apparently there was a lot of toasting!

Our transport to the Ceremony and to the wedding reception. We chose a 1968 White Morris Minor Convertible from their fleet of classics. Everyone commented on it and it made for some great photos.

How did the two of you meet?

We met at a mutual friends party and then went on our first date a week later. The date turned into quite a boozy affair, for Reece! This led to me going home to my mums. When she asked how it went I said “I don’t think I will be seeing him again!”. Needless to say he won me over and we’ve never looked BACK since

What was the inspiration behind your big day?

We wanted quite a relaxed day but one that still had all the features of a traditions of a wedding (not PARTICULARLY an easy thing to achieve) as soon as we saw Swancar Farm we knew it was the one, it’s exposed beams and rustic but luxury feel were just what we were looking for. Our theme was rustic and elegant and we think we achieved this with the help of our amazing suppliers, the reception room looked stunning.

Any favourite stories from your wedding that you”d like to share?

We drove our cars on the 40 minute journey to Swancar Farm the day BEFORE the wedding so that we had a mode of transport to get home on the day after the wedding. However I didn’t realise that I had left my wedding shoes in the boot of my car! Meaning that on the morning of the wedding someone had to make the 1 and 1/2 hour journey to collect my shoes! Whoops. They were rewarded handsomely with free drinks for the rest of the day!

DIY?

I love arts and crafts and as a result I made my own wedding cake, fudge favours, table plan & some of the venue & church flowers.

What were your favourite moments from the wedding?

We loved it all. It was the perfect day! but if i had to choose i would say the band and the party at night were particularly good, they had everyone up dancing! I also heard from lots of guests that the vintage red bus journey was a hit too.

What were the most expensive elements of your day?

Bride & Groom outfits. Our philosophy was if you can’t feel a million dollars on your wedding day then when can you?!

Tell us about your food and drinks

It was important for us to make sure we had really nice food & wine to keep our guests happy. We chose to upgrade our drinks packages to include the Special Edition Charles VIII Rose Champagne. This was the same champagne me and Reece celebrated with the night we got engaged which was a lovely touch.

Your flowers looked stunning. Can you tell us about who you used and why?

Our florist Swallows and Damsons were amazing! Anna knew exactly what we wanted and trusted her enough to basically have free reign. The floral arch on the Church doors and the fireplace garland at Swancar Farm were things I could only dream of.

Was there anything that saved you a little bit of money?

Making my own cake, I am a cake decorator in my spare time so being able to make my own was a big saving. It was 4 tiers of fruit cake so that i could make it in advance of the wedding and not be too stressed in the run up to the big day!

Is there anything you would change about your big day?

I wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding. However, if we were to do it all over again I would probably have started my DIY projects sooner so that i had more “me time” the week before the wedding.

Any advice for future couples?

People say it time and time again but don’t stress about little details! Your guests will not notice if they are not perfect and you will be having too much fun to notice! Enjoy every minute and keep the party going as long as the venue allows! We added an extra half an hour onto ours and we were so glad we did. Don”t worry about spending enough time with each guest, they don’t expect to have your undivided attention all day.
