The process starts with an idea, the idea is then conceptualized, usually on good old pen and paper. Once the concept is created we take the idea into the initial design. Customizing the look and feel to ensure a beautiful invitation is created. With watercolor this could be anything from trialing different color splashes, to adjusting what colors work best.

As designers, we care about the work we create. Crafting each design with care and a great attention to detail. We understand this is your wedding, as a result, everything needs to be amazing!

Digitize The Design

Once we’ve created that initial invitation concept, it's time to take it digital. All our concepts will be digitized before print. This is because most of the time, our couples are sending their designs out to hundreds of guests. Digitizing our initial concept allows each and every guest to receive a print that preserves the essence of the original artwork, retaining the vibrancy of artisan feel that was crafted in that initial design concept.

Once the design has been digitized, it allows further customization and adjustments to be made ensuring you receive a watercolor invitation that is simply perfect.

How Can I Ensure the Colors Match My Wedding Theme?

We completely understand that color-matching every aspect of your wedding theme is vitally important. It’s a reflection of yourself and your style.

So how do we go about matching your wedding theme color? To start with, we usually offer matching invitation suites and wedding decor items. For example, if you purchase the Avord invitation, you will also be able to purchase the matching save the date cards, thank you cards and all the important details and enclosure cards. This way your theme will remain strong.

In addition, we usually include a sample image on all our product pages so you can see the exact color of the product. This is especially important when it comes to watercolor wedding invitations with the artwork being so crucial in the final print.

Both. We combine both digital design and hand-crafted elements to create the final invitation design that is sent to print.

Our design team prides itself on creating unique and exciting artwork for all our invitations. Our watercolor wedding invitations are usually a combination of hand painted elements and digitally designed aspects.

A lot of our designs start their life as a hand crafted idea before our team of digital experts combines the natural bespoke feeling of the artwork, with the more formal aspects that help to make up your invitation. The wording will always be created digitally in order to send to print and adjust for every couple. The watercolor artwork will be digitized to ensure consistency throughout every print.

What Type of Paper/Cardstock Do You Use for Watercolor Invitations?

Choosing the right paper type for the right invitation was actually one of the biggest challenges we faced when starting on our journey. The impact of paper type of print feel and quality can vary massively. Most of our invitations and paper goods have 4 paper options. Two textured and two smooth. You can choose the type of paper on each product page.

Quality is at the top of the list in everything we do. All our papers would be considered premium cardstock ensuring your wedding stationery has that feel of luxury. It is your wedding after all.

Our watercolor invitations are all converted to digital before printing meaning the design works well with all our cardstocks.

Can I Include Additional Watercolor Elements Such As Venue Paintings?

All our invitations are customizable in wording however the watercolor design itself is fixed. We have a range of different styles of design so it's easy to find an invitation suite that reflects the creativity of your wedding day.

How Long Will It Take to Receive My Invitations?

We understand the importance of timely delivery with everything you order for your big day. While your prints will be dispatched and delivered quickly, it's important to ensure the product you receive is a product you are happy with. Most orders are processed within 24-48 hours and sent for delivery after you have received your digital proof.

Do You Have Matching Items for Other Aspects of My Wedding Stationery?

Yes, the majority of our designs have a matching save the date, thank you card, RSVP card and detail card. Simply search by collection name on the respective category page to locate the matching item.

If you can’t find the design, you can reach out to our concierge team and a matching item can be sent directly to you for browsing.

We completely understand that completing a matching suite with your watercolor invitations helps to create a beautiful wedding aesthetic. While the exact design of the watercolor may vary between each item in the set, they are still designed to create that unified look and compliment each other.
